Spotcycle App Reviews

Good app

Great at finding the location stations and count of bikes. Design wise, it could be more like CitiBikes beautiful app. Would be cool if a notification would pop up every 10-15 min of my timer/time left using the bike.

Great for tourists

We used spotcycle on our recent trip to DC and it worked great! We tried to keep the cost low (and plug on every 30 minutes) and this app was perfect for that- letting know how many bikes were available as well as how many docks were open. We HIGHLY recommend this app.

Love it!

iOS 7.03 Hands down best app for B-cycle systems. I should know, why? We use it exclusively for field operations on one and love it.

Works great, no complaints!

Works for me and super helpful for bikeshare here in DC

Reliable way to find bike stations

This app crashes far less than "official" apps, and it supports lots of cities.

Horrible

I dont normally write reviews for apps. But I was so frustrated with the user-unfriendliness of this one, I cant help expressing my displeasure. The routing function is very difficult to figure out. You have to know to tap the green or black&white flag for start and end. Then theres no "go" button once you pick the start and end points. You also cant easily copy the address of a station and go to a different mapping app. The data takes a long time over the network to update. I parked my bike but the app didnt register the additional bike. I had to get a receipt to make sure the station registered the return of my bike. Lastly this is a nice to have, but the app doesnt show recommended bike routes on the map. Bike routes however are prominently displayed at the station so they have the info.

Its occasionally wrong

Cant trust it, so kinda worthless. Problem seems to be it gets stuck "updating" data. I sent feedback, but got no reply.

Somewhat useful

Everyone bikes here in Denver so I figured this app would be helpful since I often get to a b cycle location and find no bikes left. I thought I hit the gold mine with this when it was showing me that it tells you how many bikes and docks left--awesome! Not so fast. Its October 14 and the app hasnt been updated since January 9. Buzzkill. Anyhow, at least it has the stations left and a cool timer.

How about s discount

The app or company should let everyone try it once first for free. Instead you get locked into a yearly fee right away. No thanks.

4.0 wont let me open the app

Before updating the app was perfect! Ever since updating to 4.0, I can no longer open the app. It loads & then quits.

Keeps crashing

Cant open the new version of the app

Problematic Update

The transition to this version was horrible. I had to restart the phone and delete the app and install it again to get it to quit crashing on me. In the process, it lost all my favorites. On tob of that, this version is very difficult to read because the text is so small. The developer gave no thought to usability. What a pity.

Dont update to 4.0!

Version 3.x is way better. 4.0 wont re-update the stations for me if the app has been open. I have to completely close the app (swipe up on iPhone) and re-open. Also, the new color scheme makes it difficult to distinguish between open bike slots and available bikes. The new color scheme just seems so cluttered now.

App is no longer working after 11-1 release

Running iOS 8.1 On iPhone 5 S

Loved it on the Droid, iPhone not so much

Ah, yes, they made it even worse with the "upgrade". No, the icons dont show up properly on my iPhone 5 -- for example, the options and target location buttons (AKA the gear and arrow icons) are half off the screen. Awesome! Not. In addition, this app is okay, but the droid version was far superior. The iPhone version of this app does not show, for example, either the location of Metro (Subway) stations, nor how many bikes are in the dock total versus how many bikes are actually docked there. It also does not update as often.

Good app gone bad

This app was great but it he latest version has a lot of bugs (crashes, wont refresh, menus not working). Plus moving around app not as user friendly as before and overall look not as crisp. Loved the app before. Shame they messed with it.

Did they test this?

New version mostly crashes. Handful of times it opened (with none of my old settings and no bike data) it looks like they took an excellent, efficient interface and made it a jumbled mess. Complete fail.

Dont update!

The map does not automatically refresh with new bike data. I had to go into the options menu and manually update it or completely shut down the app and reopen it to refresh. Highly recommend staying with the previous version until they fix this.

This is not user friendly

It does not refresh easily you have to tap it on just the right angle to pull it down. I work on the Longwood area and I legit need to refresh every minute to dictate what station I head too. It is really not user friendly and I find it hard to believe they beta tested this with anyone who actually uses it. Also why cant I rename a station for myself??

Terrible step backwards

This latest version is a terrible step backwards. No way to refresh the data, and it doesnt seem to happen automatically either. The whole "favorites" thing is poorly thought out - how do you edit groups, or rename them, or delete them? UI is a mess. Who needs "augmented reality"? - make the core app work first.
